Fatal road crash on the A9 near Carrbridge
Road policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the A9 near Carrbridge on Wednesday, 12 June, 2024.
Around 10.15pm, a Volkswagen Multivan and a Toyota Hilux were involved in a collision.
A 65-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Volkswagen was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 33-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man who were passengers in the Volkswagen, and the 64-year-old male driver were taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness where hospital staff describe their condition as serious.
The 51-year-old male driver of the Toyota was taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness where staff describe his condition as serious.
The road was closed while crash investigations were carried out and fully reopened around 5.50am on Thursday, 13 June.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and officers are appealing for information.
Road Policing Sergeant Calum MacAulay said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died at this very difficult time.
“As our enquiries continue, I’d appeal to anyone with information to come forward. I’d be particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has dashcam footage of the area around the time.”
