Appeal following wilful fireraising in Greenock
Officers in Greenock are appealing for information following an incident of wilful fireraising.
Around 4.25am on Sunday, 30 June, 2024, emergency services were called to a report of a fire within the common close of a block of flats in Dellingburn Street, Greenock.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the blaze and nobody was injured during the incident.
Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for the assistance of the public.
Detective Inspector Nicky Beattie, of Greenock CID, said: "Thankfully nobody was injured as a result of this dangerous and reckless act.
“Extensive enquiries are ongoing and we are keen to trace those responsible.
“I would appeal to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious, or who has any information which may assist us, to get in touch.
"I am also keen to hear anyone with potential private CCTV, dashcam or video doorbell footage."
