Appeal following serious assault in Lansbury Street, Greenock
Detectives are appealing for information following a serious assault which occurred in Greenock of the afternoon of Friday, 31 May, 2024.
Around 1.50pm a 51-year-old man was assaulted by two men with a weapon in Lansbury Street. He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where he received treatment for serious facial injuries.
The first suspect is described as between 40 and 50 years old, heavy set, balding, and was wearing a green shirt and blue jeans.
The second suspect is described as having brown hair and a full beard and was wearing a grey top with a distinctive dark banner across the shoulders and grey tracksuit bottoms.
A white Vauxhall van was in the area at the time of the incident.
Detective Constable Laura Sokolov said: “This was a violent attack and we are appealing for any information which could help us find the men responsible.
“If you were in Lansbury Street around 1.50pm on Friday afternoon and saw or heard anything at all suspicious please get in touch.
“We would be particularly keen to hear from anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage of the surrounding area which could be of significance to our enquiries.
