Anthony Kelly jailed for serious and organised crime offences
A 37-year-old man has been jailed for seven years and six months for his part in serious and organised crime and supplying drugs at the High Court in Aberdeen on Thursday, 6 June, 2024.
He was also issued with a Serious Crime Prevention Order on his release.
Anthony Kelly was arrested as part of Operation Aversion – an operation in Lanarkshire to disrupt those involved in organised crime groups using encrypted devices.
He pled guilty to the offences on Wednesday, 8 May 2024 at the High Court in Glasgow.
Detective Superintendent Martin McGhee said “Kelly will now face a significant time in prison for being the leading member of a serious and organised crime group.
“We remain committed to disrupting those involved to stop them to profiting and bring misery to our communities.
“This sentencing underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy. We remain committed to our fight against those involved in serious and organised crime to ensure our communities are safe.”
