Man robbed, Cathcart Street, Greenock
Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery which occurred in Cathcart Street, Greenock, on Saturday, 13 January, 2024.
At some point between 10.30pm and 10.40pm a 22-year-old man was walking along Cathcart Street near to The James Watt public house when he was approached from behind by a group of four men.
One of the men grabbed him, demanding money, before taking a quantity of cash from him.
The victim ran off along Cathcart Street in the direction of The Exchange public house and police were later contacted.
Detective Sergeant Grant Bowie said: “Thankfully the victim was not injured during this incident but it was still a distressing experience and enquiries have been ongoing to establish the full circumstances and identify those responsible.
“We are appealing for any potential witnesses who may have seen what happened, or have any information which could assist the investigation, to come forward.
