Man jailed for 10 and a half years for sexual and violent offences in Aberdeen
A 62-year-old-man convicted of serious sexual and violent offences has been sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh.
Craig Morrison was arrested and charged following the sexual assault of a woman, along with violent offences in Aberdeen between 1981 and 2021.
He was also convicted of breach of the peace and threatening behaviour towards another woman in 2020.
On Tuesday, 23 January, 2024, he was sentenced to 10 years and six months imprisonment.
Detective Inspector Kerry McCombie said: “I hope this sentencing sends a clear message that all reports of sexual abuse and violence regardless of the passage of time will be thoroughly investigated and all victims will be fully supported.
“Morrison’s victims made sure he was accountable for his actions by assisting with our investigation, and I hope this brings them some comfort as they move on with their lives.
