Man arrested following robberies at service stations in Airdrie and Coatbridge
A 40-year-old man has been arrested and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with a series of three robberies in Lanarkshire.
Two incidents took place at a service station on Alexander Street, Airdrie on Monday, 22, and Thursday, 25 January, 2024. A further incident happened at a service station in the Main Street area of Coatbridge on Tuesday, 23 January, 2024.
There were no injuries reported, but shop staff were left shaken as a result of each robbery.
The 40-year-old man is expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Friday, 26 January, 2024.
Detective Sergeant Greig Muir, from Coatbridge CID, said, “We’d like to thank the public for their assistance as we carried out our swift enquiries into this series of attacks.”
