Lanarkshire officers recover cannabis with potential value of £680,000
Police officers in Lanark have recovered cannabis plants with an estimated street value of around £680,000.
The cultivation was discovered at a disused premises in the Bannatyne Street area of the town on the afternoon of Tuesday, 2 January, 2024.
No one was arrested, and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Scott Robertson of Lanarkshire CID said: “This is a significant recovery and is an example of our ongoing efforts to disrupt the sale and supply of illegal drugs in Lanarkshire.
“It also underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.
“We will always look to take action on any information received on the supply of illegal substances and would encourage anyone with concerns about drugs in their area to get in touch.
“Anyone with information relating to this particular recovery is asked to contact officers via 101, quoting incident 1724 of Tuesday, 2 January, 2024.”
