Four men arrested and charged following a series of housebreakings and thefts in the Angus area
Following a series of housebreakings and thefts in the Angus area, a total of four men have been arrested and charged.
A 36-year-old man was due to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court on Monday, 29 January, in connection with a theft by housebreaking at a premises on the High Street in Arbroath that happened on Sunday, 21 January.
He was also due to appear in connection with a housebreaking at another premises on the High Street that happened on Saturday, 27 January, and a series of shopliftings and attempted thefts at various retail premises in Arbroath on the same date.
A 35-year-old man was due to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court on Monday, 29 January, in connections with thefts in Edzell that happened on the 13 and 14 January, including theft from vehicles, the theft of a vehicle, and the theft of bank cards.
And two men, one aged 40 and one aged 32, appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 24 January, in connection with a theft by housebreaking at a lock-up garage in the Princes Street area of Monifieth that happened in the early hours of 24 January.
Detective Sergeant Colin Watson said: “Housebreaking and theft causes misery and a financial loss to the victims. This kind of criminal activity will not be tolerated and we will continue to work to apprehend those responsible.”
