Two jailed following a targeted attack in Uddingston that left a man severely injured
Two men have been sentenced in connection with a targeted attack that happened in Uddingston in March 2022.
At the High Court in Glasgow on Friday, 23 February, 2024, Dylan Black, aged 29, was sentenced to six years and Ian Donnelly, aged 27, sentenced to five years and eight months in connection with the assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and danger to life of a 44-year-old man on Main Street in the town.
The incident happened around 2pm on Thursday, 3 March, 2022, and the man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious head injuries.
Detective Chief Inspector Susie Cairns said: “This was a targeted attack and I hope the conviction brings some closure for the victim.
“Black and Donnelly carried out a deliberate and brutal attack and they will now face the consequences of their actions that day.
“This kind of violence has no place in our communities and I hope this outcome sends a clear message to those involved in serious crime that we are committed to seeking out those responsible and bringing them to justice.”
