Two charged following County Lines drug recovery in Dumbarton
Officers have arrested and charged two men from England for drugs offences.
Around 12.40pm on Thursday, 8 February, 2024 officers stopped a vehicle near to Dunglass Roundabout in Dumbarton after intelligence was received the men were travelling to Scotland with drugs.
Officers searched the vehicle and a quantity heroin was seized with a total potential street value of over £12,000.
Two men, aged 41 and 42, were arrested and charged in connection with drugs offences. They are due to appear in Dumbarton Sheriff Court today (Friday, 9 February, 2024). A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We have taken drugs off the street during this operation and have arrested two individuals.
“These arrests underline our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy. Taking drugs off the street is a priority for Police Scotland.
“Anybody with any information or concerns about drugs within their community should contact Police via 101 where we can then investigate.”
