Officers are investigating a suspicious fire in Cumnock
Police are appealing for information following a wilful fire-raising at a block of flats in Cumnock.
Around 11am on Thursday, 1 February, 2024 police were made aware of a fire outside a flat in Meagher Court, Cumnock.
Emergency services attended and extinguished the fire. A 38-year-old woman was taken to Ayr hospital as a precaution and later discharged.
Detective Constable Christian Harrison, of Kilmarnock CID said “I would appeal to anyone who was in Meagher Court or Townhead Street areas around the time of the incident who may have seen something or someone that looked a little suspicious to contact us. I'd also ask anyone with dash cams or doorbell recording equipment to check their footage as there could be images which could assist our ongoing enquiries.”
