Serious road crash on the A725 Expressway
Officers are appealing for information following a serious road crash in East Kilbride.
Around 10.40pm on Saturday, 17 February, 2024, a Bentley Continental GT car was travelling eastbound on the A725 East Kilbride Expressway when it appeared to lose control and struck the concrete barrier. The car and the barrier suffered significant damage.
Emergency services attended and the 30-year-old male driver of the car was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where medical staff describe his condition as critical. The 26-year-old female passenger was also taken to hospital and released following treatment.
The road was closed to allow collision investigation work to be carried out.
Sergeant Elaine Scott said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision, who has yet to speak to us, to please get in touch. We are piecing together the circumstances of how the crash occurred and information is vital in assisting us to do that. I would also ask anyone with dash cam equipment to check their footage.”
