An investigation is under way after a man was attacked in Stonehaven
Officers are appealing for information following a serious assault in Stonehaven.
Between 1015pm and 1045pm on Friday, 9 February, 2024, a 19-year-old man was in Barclay Street with friends, when a dark-coloured car drove up beside them. Several men got out the car and seriously assaulted the 19-year-old man. The attackers got back into the car and drove off in the direction of Allardice Street.
Emergency services attended and the injured man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Officers have carried out door-to-door enquiries and have reviewed relevant CCTV footage from in and around the area.
Sergeant Chris Gardiner said: “This appears to be an unprovoked attack on a young man. We have been reviewing CCTV images, but I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to contact us. Any small piece of information could prove vital.
“In particular, I would like to ask taxi-drivers and motorists with dash cam equipment to check their footage as they could have unwittingly captured the dark-coloured car which could assist our investigation.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 4179 of 9 February, 2024. Alternatively, please speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
