Man arrested and charged in connection with death of woman in Shetland

A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a 24-year-old woman following a disturbance in Shetland.

Officers were called to the Sandness area around 4.55pm on Sunday, 11 February and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

He is due to appear before Lerwick Sheriff Court on Thursday, 15 February, 2024, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
