Investigation into unexplained fire in Dumfries

Police are carrying out enquiries into a fire at a farm in the Auldgirth area of Dumfries.

The incident was reported around 10.05pm on Wednesday, 21 February, 2024.

After the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, a 43-year-old man was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Detective Inspector Graeme Robertson, from Dumfries and Galloway Division CID, said: “Enquiries to establish the full circumstances and the cause of the fire are ongoing.

“Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call police on 101, quoting incident 3764 of 21 February, 2024.”
