Appeal for information following thefts from charity clothing banks in Dundee
Officers in Dundee are appealing for information after thefts from charity clothing banks in the city.
Entry was forced to a Salvation Army bank on Riverside Drive between 9am on Thursday, 18 January and 9am on Saturday, 20 January.
A similar incident occurred at another Salvation Army bank on South Road between 8.45am on Thursday, 18 January and 9am on Saturday, 20 January.
Clothing was stolen on both occasions.
We are also aware of similar incidents in 2023 in Tayside, Fife and Glasgow though it isn’t clear if they are linked.
Sergeant John Maddocks said: “Incidents such as this are very disruptive for the charity trying to raise funds for good causes.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have information to call 101, quoting reference 3052 or 3112 of 22 January.”
