Appeal following serious assault in Glasgow City Centre

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault which occurred in Glasgow City Centre in the early hours of Sunday, 28 January, 2024.

Around 4.30am, a 41-year-old man was waiting at a taxi rank on George Square when another man punched him to the face, causing him to fall to the ground.

The man was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment of a head injury and was later discharged.

Constable Martin Howie, of Greater Glasgow CID, said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault and who hasn’t already spoke to officers to get in touch.”
