Appeal after man seriously assaulted in Cumbernauld
Detectives are appealing for information following a serious assault in Cumbernauld.
Around 6.30pm on Friday, 2 February, 2024, a 26-year-old man was walking on the footpath near to Glenacre Road, Cumbernauld, when three men approached him and seriously assaulted him. The man was taken to University Hospital Monklands with serious facial injuries.
The three men were wearing dark coloured clothing and had their hoods up. Following the incident they ran off towards Langlands Place.
Officers have been checking for any relevant CCTV footage for any additional information on the suspects.
Detective Constable Glenn Coletta said: "A young man has sustained serious injuries and it's vital we establish the full circumstances and trace those responsible. I would ask anyone who was in Glenacre Road or Langlands Place to think back and consider if they noticed the three men, or anything odd or suspicious. Similarly, if anyone has dash cam or doorbell equipment, please review the footage as bring anything of significance to our attention."
