Man arrested and charged for drugs offences in Lanarkshire
A 41-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with drugs offences in Lanarkshire.
Around 11.35pm on Monday, 2 December, officers stopped a Citroen Berlingo van on the M74 northbound near Larkhall.
Following a search of the vehicle, five kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of around £200,000 was recovered.
The man is expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 4 December, 2024.
Detective Superintendent Steven Elliott said: “This is a significant recovery that disrupts the supply of illegal drugs and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to tackling the harm they cause within our communities.
“It highlights the crucial work being carried out as part of the Serious Organised Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.
