New officers ready to deploy to Scotland's communities
Almost 130 new officers are ready to report for duty in communities across Scotland as they marked the end of their training during a passing out parade.
Chief Constable Jo Farrell addressed the latest cohort who were joined by family and loved ones at our headquarters, Tulliallan, today, Friday 6 December 2024.
She thanked all 128 officers for stepping forward in their commitment to public service.
Chief Constable Farrell said: “A career in policing is a career like no other and I have consistently highlighted the skill, commitment, goodwill and professionalism of our workforce.
“I am grateful to our latest cohort for stepping forward and I welcome them to the policing family. I hope they enjoy hugely rewarding careers with no two days the same.
“They are now ready to deploy to our communities to discharge their duties in line with Police Scotland’s values of integrity, fairness, respect and a commitment to uphold human rights.
“I thank them for their dedication to deliver an excellent service to the public.”
The recruits passing out today range in ages from 18 to 55 years old and the course is comprised of 85 male officers (66%) and 43 female officers (34%). Some of them have previous careers as a solicitor, lecturer, joiner and civil nuclear technician.
