Drugs worth £700,000 seized in operation in Glasgow
Drugs worth more than £700,000 have been seized in Glasgow following an operation on Friday, 6 December, 2024.
Around 4.30pm, officers from the serious and organised crime unit, searched a property in Old Manse Road, Mount Vernon, Glasgow. Heroin, with a potential street value of £660,000, and cannabis valued at approximately £117,000 were seized.
Two men, aged 27 and 33, were arrested and charged in connection with the recovery. Both are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 9 December 2024.
Detective Superintendent Sarah Taylor, from Police Scotland’s Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit, said: “This is a significant seizure which sends a clear message that we won’t tolerate illegal drugs in our communities.
“It also underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country's Serious Organised Crime Strategy, and we will continue to work with partner agencies to tackle this issue and make our communities safer.
