Arrest following vandalisms in Kirkintilloch and Lenzie

A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with a number of vandalisms in Kirkintilloch and Lenzie.

Between October and November 2024 a number of business premises were spray painted. The total cost of the damage caused is estimated to be in excess of £5,000.

The 17-year-old is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date and enquiries remain ongoing.

PC Ryan Corey said: “The impact of these vandalisms on both communities has been substantial both in terms of financial loss to businesses and the negative effect on the wider visual appearance of both town centres.  Extensive liaison with local businesses in both areas led to identifying the youth in connection and enquiries continue to identify anyone else involved.”
