Appeal following robbery in Newton area of Kilmarnock
Detectives in Ayrshire are appealing for information following a robbery in the Newton area of Kilmarnock.
Around 1.50am on Sunday, 22 December, 2024, a 64-year-old woman was approached by a man on Gilmour street, who assaulted her and stole her handbag. She did not require any medical treatment.
The suspect is described as a tall, white man with stubble, and wearing a dark jacket and hat.
Detective Constable O'Neil of Kilmarnock CID said: "Our enquiries are ongoing, and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that could assist our investigation.
"We are particularly eager to speak with a woman who was walking her dog near the chip shop on Welbeck Street shortly before the incident and may have spoken to the suspect.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 0432 of 22 December, 2024. Alternatively, you can provide information anonymously through Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111."
