Appeal following housebreaking in Crossgates, West Fife
Detectives are appealing for information following a theft by housebreaking in West Fife which occurred on Thursday, 5 December, 2024.
Between 5.50pm and 10pm, entry was forced to a secure property on South Knowe in Crossgates and a designer handbag was stolen.
Detective Inspector Graeme Dursley said: “Enquiries into this theft are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area on Thursday night who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to please get in touch.
“We would be particularly keen to hear from any members of the public with private CCTV or dash-cam footage which could be of significance to our investigation.
"Housebreaking causes misery in our communities and it is important for householders to ensure their homes are secure in order to deter any opportunist thieves.
“Our advice is to keep buildings locked at all times and not to leave valuables where they can be seen, including motor vehicle keys. High value items can be marked with a UV marker pen or security DNA marking kit which can help when it comes to recovering stolen property. "
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3836 of 5 December, 2024. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
