Appeal following fatal road crash on Clune Brae, Port Glasgow
Officers are appealing for information following a fatal road crash on Clune Brae, Port Glasgow, which took place around 9.55pm on Monday, 16 December, 2024.
The crash involved a Volkswagen Golf being driven by a 50-year-old woman. A parked, unoccupied Peugeot car was struck.
A 38-year-old man who was a passenger in the Volkswagen Golf was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 50-year-old woman was arrested and released pending further enquiries. She was taken to hospital for treatment.
An investigation to establish the full circumstances of the crash is ongoing and officers are asking anyone with information to come forward.
Chief Inspector David Doherty said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.
“As our enquiries continue, we urge anyone who was in the area of Clune Brae and either witnessed the crash or has any information that may assist our investigation to contact us.
“Anyone with dash-cam or personal footage is asked to review it and please get in touch if it contains anything relevant to our investigation.
