Allan Higgins jailed for serious sexual offences in Ayrshire
A 52-year-old man has been jailed for 11 years for serious sexual offences in Ayrshire.
Allan Higgins was sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh on Wednesday, 4 December, 2024 for the series of serious sexual assaults of a girl in Kilmarnock in 2023.
He previously pled guilty to the offences at High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday, 16 October, 2024.
Detective Inspector Suzanne McNulty said: “Higgins is a dangerous sexual predator who will now face the consequences of his despicable actions.
“I commend the girl for her strength in reporting his offending and I hope this sentence can help bring them closure as they continue to move forward with their life.
“I’d urge anyone who has been a victim of a sexual crime, regardless of when it happened, to come forward and report it to us. All reports are thoroughly investigated. We have specially trained officers who, alongside our partner agencies, will support you throughout.”
