Two men charged in connection with serious M8 crash in Glasgow
Two men have been charged in connection with a serious crash on the M8 in Glasgow.
Around 1.10pm on Wednesday, 24 July, 2024 a Mercedes A45 collided with an unmarked Volvo S90 police car and a Mercedes CLS, which were on the hard shoulder of the eastbound carriageway near J13, Provan.
Two male police officers and two men from the Mercedes CLS were taken to hospital following the crash.
A 48-year-old police officer and a 43-year-old man remain in a stable condition in hospital.
A 38-year-old police officer and a 31-year-old man were discharged following treatment.
Three men, aged 27, 33 and 39, who were travelling in the Mercedes A45 were also taken to hospital and released following treatment.
A 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with road traffic offences. He has now been charged and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday, 29 August, 2024. A second man, aged 33, has also been charged in connection with road traffic offences and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
