Three people have been arrested following enforcement action in Shetland.
On Saturday, 17 August and Sunday, 18 August, 2024, local response officers alongside specialist units from the Aberdeen Operational Support Unit and Dogs Against Drugs, executed six warrants in the Lerwick and Scalloway areas. Class A drugs worth around £1,700 and a four-figure sum of cash were recovered.
A 33-year-old woman and 45-year-old man were arrested in connection with drugs offences. They appeared at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday 19 August.
A 20-year-old man was also arrested in connection with an outstanding warrant.
Police Constable MacColl, Lerwick Police Office, said: “We’re committed to tackling the supply and distribution of harmful substances in our communities and will continue to take action against those involved in such criminality.
“Anyone with information or concerns about the sale and supply of drugs is urged to contact police. We will fully investigate all reports.”
