Man convicted following £1.5 million drug seizure in Tayside
A man has been convicted after around £1.5 million worth of cocaine was seized in Tayside.
Tom Farquhar, 28, pled guilty to drugs offences at the High Court in Glasgow on Monday, 5 August, 2024.
Farquhar was stopped on the A90 northbound near Dundee on Monday, 1 September, 2023, as part of an investigation led by Police Scotland's Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit.
Officers carried out a search and recovered the drugs from the blue Audi S3 he was driving.
Detective Superintendent Steven Elliot, from the Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism unit, said: "This was a substantial seizure following great work by our officers and Tom Farquhar will now face the consequences of his actions.
"We hope his conviction sends a clear message that those who seek to profit from others' misery will be brought to justice.
"The seizure underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country's Serious Organised Crime Strategy.
