Man arrested and charged following drugs recovery in Spean Bridge
A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with drugs offences following the discovery of a cannabis cultivation in Spean Bridge.
Cannabis with an estimated street value of more than £700,000 was recovered from the property on Station Road around 11.20am on Saturday, 17 August, 2024.
The man was due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday, 19 August.
Detective Sergeant Joe Newson said: “This is a significant cannabis cultivation and its recovery is another step towards removing drugs from our community.
“We are committed to tackling the supply of illegal substances, which can have a devasting impact on people’s lives and bring misery to the local area.
“Information provided by the public is vital to help us do this. I would ask anyone who witnesses suspicious behaviour around buildings that aren’t frequently occupied or has any concerns about drug production in their area, to report it to us.”
