Drugs worth £1.26 million recovered in Tayside
Drugs with a potential street value of £1.26 million have been recovered from three properties in Tayside.
Detective seized cannabis plants from addresses following reports from members of the public.
Approximately 800 plants, worth around £480,000, were discovered within a premises on Nobel Road, Dundee, on Wednesday, 7 August, 2024 and enquiries remain ongoing.
Around 2pm on Thursday, 8 August, 2024, 300 plants worth around £180,000 were found at a property on Ledmore Terrace, Dundee.
A 27-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with drug offences and is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Friday, 9 August, 2024.
Around 8pm on Thursday, 8 August, 2024, 1000 plants, worth around £600,000, were discovered within a derelict property on Allen Street in Blairgowrie. Enquiries remain ongoing.
Detective Sergeant David Feeney said: “Drugs cause misery in our communities and Police Scotland is committed to disrupting the cultivation and sale of illegal substances.
“Officers are removing drugs from communities right across Scotland day in, day out and information provided by the public is vital in helping us continue to do this.
“I would specifically ask anyone who witnesses any suspicious behaviour in and around buildings that aren’t frequently occupied, such as people coming and going at unusual times, or has concerns regarding drug productions and crime in their area, to report this so we can investigate.”
