Appeal for information following break-in and theft in Melrose
Officers are appealing for information following break-ins and thefts at a premises in Melrose.
The first incident happened around 11.45pm on Friday, 30 August, 2024 at a premises on Buccleuch Street. A quantity of cash and alcohol were taken.
The second incident, at the same premises, happened around 5.30am on Saturday, 31 August, 2024. A quantity of cash was taken.
The suspect is described as being a man, white, in his 20s, around 5ft 8in tall, of medium build, with short, blonde hair. He was wearing a dark blue jumper and dark coloured trousers.
Constable Ruaridh Nairn said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have information to contact us.
“We also ask anyone who may have private CCTV of the area at the time to come forward.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 1210 of 31 August, 2024. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
