Appeal following crash on A75, Dunragit
Road policing officers are appealing for information following a three-vehicle crash on the A75 near Dunragit.
The incident happened around 6.30pm on Wednesday, 31 July, 2024, and involved a white Scania R580 HGV, a Claas 420 Arion tractor with a trailer and a grey Toyota Rav 4 car.
Emergency services attended and the driver of the Toyota, a 26-year-old man, was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment. His injuries are described as life-threatening.
One of four dogs in the Toyota died at the scene and the three others have been checked by a vet and taken to kennels.
The driver of the Scania, a 39-year-old man, was taken to Galloway Community Hospital as a precaution and later released.
The driver of the tractor, a 20-year-old man, was not injured.
The road was closed and re-opened around 6.20am.
Sergeant Neil Moffat said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who can help to get in touch.
“If you were in the area at the time and have information, including dash-cam, that could assist with our investigation then please make contact with us.”
