A8011 at Cumbernauld reopens following serious road crash

The A8011 between junction 4a of the M80 and Back O’Hill Roundabout towards Cumbernauld Town Centre has reopened following a serious road crash involving one vehicle.

Emergency services were called to the scene around 9.05pm on Saturday, 17 August, 2024.

The A73 was also closed between Junction 5 of the M80 and Chapelton Roundabout and has now reopened.

The male driver of the vehicle remains at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital were medical staff describe his condition as critical.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3699 of Saturday, 17 August, 2024.
