Flat deliberately set on fire in Paisley
Detectives are appealing for information following a wilful fire-raising in Paisley.
Around 8pm on Friday, 19 April, 2024, police were alerted to a flat on fire in Morven Avenue with several nearby flats having to be evacuated.
Emergency services attended and several nearby flats were evacuated. No-one was injured in the incident, however, six residents were assessed by ambulance staff at the scene. No-one required to go to hospital.
Officers will be checking for any relevant CCTV from in an around the area.
Detective Inspector Jan MacColl said: “The flat has been extensively damaged, and I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident who may have seen something or someone which looked a little suspicious to get in touch with us. I’d also like to ask residents with doorbell recording equipment to check their footage. Its possibly captured images which could assist in our investigation.”
