Five men have been stopped by police and will be reported in connection with driving under the influence in the North Highlands in the last 24 hours.
Officers have been carrying out patrols throughout the region and made a number of detections on Monday, 29 April, 2024.
Two men – aged 24 and 26 – were detected for drug driving in the Dingwall area. Whilst a 26-year-old man and a 35-year-old man were detected for drug driving in Tain and Alness respectively.
A further 50-year-old man was stopped and charged in connection with drink driving in the Alness area.
All five will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
Chief Inspector Richard Ross, North Highland Area Commander, said: “Driving under the influence is unacceptable and the risks of this are already widely known.
“I would like to thank the public for their continued support and provide assurances that officers will continue to take any action necessary to reduce these offences from our roads.”
