Two men convicted of drug offences in Tayside
Two men have been convicted of drug offences in Tayside.
Richard Spalding, 27, and David Pringle, 34, pleaded guilty at the High Court in Edinburgh today, Friday, 1 September, 2023, in connection with a number of offences relating to the supply and distribution of drugs.
Spalding was arrested on Thursday, 9 June, 2022, after officers searched a property in the Charleston area of Dundee and recovered cocaine with an estimated street value of £1,000,000.
Later that day, as part of the same investigation, Pringle was arrested when road policing officers stopped a car on the A90 near Inchture. Cocaine with an estimated street value of £200,000 was found as well as around £120,000 in cash.
Detective Inspector Julia Ogilvie from the Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism unit in Dundee said: “I hope this conviction sends a clear message to those involved in dealing drugs that we will catch you and you will be made to face the consequences of your actions.
“Drugs cause significant harm to our communities and Police Scotland is committed to taking all necessary steps to prevent their distribution and supply.
“The public continues to play a vital role in assisting our investigations, and anyone with any concerns about drugs, or who has information about those involved in drugs, should contact Police Scotland on 101 or make an anonymous report to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
