Attempted robbery of woman in Glasgow
Officers are appealing for information following the attempted robbery of a 26-year-old woman in Glasgow on Friday, 8 September, 2023.
The incident occurred around 8.30pm in Armadale Street, near to Golfhill Drive, when the woman was approached by a man in his early 20s. The man stole the woman’s bag.
The woman did not require medical treatment but has been left badly shaken.
Members of the public came to the woman’s aid and managed to retrieve the stolen bag and items. However, the suspect ran off in the direction of Duke Street.
The suspect is white, in his early 20s, with a slim build. He is around 5ft. 6 inches tall, with short dark hair and wearing a blue-coloured baggy tracksuit. He spoke with a local accent.
Officers have been checking relevant CCTV footage from the surrounding areas and carrying out door-to-door enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Laura Roberts said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to get in touch. In particular, I would ask the members of the public who helped the woman to call us. Also, if anyone has recording equipment, such as doorbell or dash cams, please check the footage as it could hold images relevant to our ongoing investigation.”
