Appeal for information following crash, A714 near Girvan
Road policing officers are appealing for information following a serious two-vehicle crash on the A714 near Pinwherry, Girvan.
The incident happened around 4.20pm on Saturday, 23 September, 2023, and involved a grey Porsche GT and a red Renault Scenic.
Emergency services attended and a 72-year-old man, the driver of the Renault, was taken to University Hospital Crosshouse, Kilmarnock, with serious injuries. His condition is described as critical.
The 51-year-old male driver of the Porsche sustained minor injuries and his 41-year-old male passenger sustained serious injuries. Both were taken to University Hospital Crosshouse.
The road was closed for crash investigations.
The 51-year-old was arrested and charged in connection with a road traffic offence.
He is due to appear before Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday, 25 September, 2023. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Sergeant Scott Gourlay said: “Our enquiries into the full circumstances of the crash are continuing and we are asking anyone with information that could assist officers to get in touch.
“In particular if you saw the vehicles before the crash or have dash-cam then please make contact with us.”
