Appeal following serious assault in Fairie Street, Rutherglen
Detectives are appealing for information following a serious assault which happened in Rutherglen on Thursday, 14 September, 2023.
Around 4.25pm, a 32-year-old man was in Fairie Street near to Aldi, when he was attacked by a group of three male youths with weapons.
One of the suspects was wearing a blue jacket, with a white hood and dark bottoms, whilst the other two were wearing all dark clothing, with hoods up. They made off towards Mill Court after the attack.
The victim was assisted by members of the public and then taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
Detective Constable James McKee, from Cambuslang CID, said: “This appears to have been a targeted attack which has left the victim requiring hospital treatment.
“There were a number of people in the area around the time of the incident and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened, or saw the group in the aftermath, to please get in touch.
“I would also urge any motorists with dashcam footage of the incident or the suspects making off from the area, to come forward.
