More than a million pounds worth of drugs have been seized
Officers from Police Scotland have seized drugs worth a potential value of £1.8 million following an operation in Glasgow.
On Thursday, 12 October, 2023, officers from Glasgow’s organised crime unit intercepted two cars in Dunragit Street, Glasgow and seized a significant quantity of what’s believed to be cocaine (approx 42 kilos). The Class A drug has a potential street value of £1.8 million.
Two men aged 34 and 56 have been arrested and charged in connection with the seizure. Both are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday, 13 October, 2023.
Detective Superintendent David Ferry said: “This operation underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy. People’s lives are ruined by drugs and we are determined to disrupt criminal activity which has such a negative impact on the lives of our communities. We will continue to work with our partners to ensure Scotland is a hostile environment for those who seek to bring misery to our communities through their involvement in drugs.”
