Boys reported following break-in and theft in Arbroath
Three male youths have been charged in connection with a break-in and theft of a premises in Arbroath.
The boys, a 13-year-old and two 14-year-olds, were traced after around £2000 worth of goods were stolen from a premises on Cairnie Road around 4am on Wednesday, 4 October, 2023. Some of the items, including vapes and cigarettes, have since been recovered.
They have all been referred to the Youth Justice Management Team.
Sergeant Peter Mustard of the Arbroath Response Policing team said: “It is disappointing to hear of mindless acts of criminality to premises in the Arbroath area, and particularly concerning given the time of nigh and ages of those involved.
“This sort of behaviour in the local community is completely unacceptable and I would urge anyone with information or who may have seen anything to come forward.
"I would also urge local businesses and residents to be mindful of their security or to report any suspicious activity or persons to the police, particularly as we are now coming into the early evenings and reduced daylight”.
