Police appeal following attempted murder in Bearsden

Detectives investigating an attempted murder in Bearsden are appealing for information.

Around 5am on Sunday, 19 November, 2023, police were called to a report of a disturbance after an Audi Q7 was deliberately driven at a man and subsequently crashed into a premises on Spey Road.

There were no reports of any injuries.

A 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the disturbance. He is due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday, 20 November, 2023.

The driver and a passenger of the Audi left the scene.

Detective Sergeant Nick Gribben said: “No-one was injured and our enquiries are ongoing to trace those involved. "I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw or heard anything suspicious, to come forward. "It is important we gather as much information as possible, and any small detail could prove vital.
