Man jailed for series of serious, non-recent sexual offence in Aberdeen area
A 59-year-old man has been jailed after being found guilty of a series of serious non-recent sexual offences committed against a child in the Aberdeen area.
Duncan Houston (pictured) was found guilty in October at the High Court in Aberdeen of a series of offences, including rape and other sexual offences committed between 1994 and 2002.
He was sentenced to four years imprisonment at the High Court in Edinburgh today (Wednesday, 22 November, 2023).
Detective Inspector Ryan Morris said: “Our investigation revealed Duncan Houston to be a cruel and predatory individual, who took advantage of a child for his own ends over an extended period of time.
“I would commend the woman who reported him for her courage throughout the police investigation and subsequent legal process, which has ultimately resulted in him being jailed today.
“Police Scotland is committed to bringing sexual offenders to justice, regardless of how much time has passed since the offences were committed.
“I would urge anyone with information or concerns to report them by calling Police Scotland on 101, or you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
