Four people arrested and charged following high value cyber fraud
Four people have been arrested and charged in connection with a high value cyber-fraud targeting a 59-year-old man in Aberdeenshire.
The fraud targeted the victim’s online finances, resulting in a six-figure sum of money being stolen.
An investigation was carried out by officers from Police Scotland’s North East Division’s Cyber-Enabled Crime Team, resulting in three days of enforcement action at properties in London, Leeds and Lancashire.
During the enforcement, which began on Monday, 20 November, 2023, three men, aged 18, 33, and 47, and a women aged 38 were arrested and charged. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
