Appeal following the theft and deliberate fire of a van in Milngavie
Detectives are appealing for information following the theft and deliberate fire of a vehicle in Milngavie.
Around 3.10pm on Monday, 27 November, 2023 officers received a report of the theft of a van on Dumgoyne Avenue, Milngavie.
A short time later, at 3.30pm, we received the report of the same vehicle found on fire near to The Loan in Milngavie.
The vehicle is described as a dark blue Ford Transit van, with the registration LC21 OWR.
A number of items, worth around £6000, were stolen from the van. The van was also damaged beyond repair by the fire, costing over £40,000.
Detective Constable Ciara Nicoll said: "We are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident to get in touch, from initial investigation we are aware of a second van involved in the incident, namely a white coloured Ford Transit.
“In addition, anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the incident and may have dash-cam footage that would help with our investigation is asked to call us.”
