Sixth man charged following death of Neil Canney, Greenock

A 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Neil Canney in Greenock.

Mr Canney, 37, was found seriously injured in Nairn Road around 1.15am on Tuesday, 28 February, 2023.

He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he died a short time later.

The 24-year-old is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Thursday, 11 May, 2023 and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Five men, aged 22, 23, 27, 28 and 38, have already been arrested, charged and appeared at Greenock Sheriff Court.
