Woman injured in fire in Irvine
Detectives are continuing their enquiries and appealing for information after a fire was set at a property in McKinlay Crescent, Irvine on Saturday, 6 May.
Police were called to the property around 4.20am.
A 59-year-old woman was taken to University Hospital Crosshouse and has since been discharged.
Detective Constable Sandy McBreen of Saltcoats Police Station said: “Inquiries are ongoing into this incident which is being treated as attempted murder.
“If you were in the area of McKinlay Crescent between 3.40am and 4am on Saturday morning and saw anything suspicious, or have any information that may assist our investigation, please contact officers as soon as possible.
“We are keen to obtain any dash cam footage from motorists in the area between these times, in case they have captured anything that may be helpful to this inquiry.
“Information should be passed to 101 quoting reference number 0663 of 6 May. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
