Enquiries under way after high value tools and oil is stolen
Officers are appealing for information following a spate of thefts from commercial properties in the Lairg, Invergordon and Evanton areas.
Officers are currently investigating eight reports of thefts of high value tools and machinery. Large volumes of oil and diesel have also been stolen.
Fencing is being vandalised and damaged as the thieves force their way into the sites. Given some of the locations, officers believe those responsible are using 4x4 vehicles.
The offences occurred between Friday, 14 April to Sunday, 30 April, 2023 and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Sergeant Christopher Robertson said: “I would ask anyone who may have seen anyone looking suspicious or any vehicles not local to the area to get in touch with us. These thieves are damaging property and stealing items of high value. The loss of these tools impacts heavily on the ongoing work at these sites.
